“First published in 1986, the groundbreaking series explored the people on New York's subway system during the 1980s. Davidson typically only shot in black and white but this project marked his shift to colour. This was his attempt to capture the essence of New York with extreme colours and show the individuality of each person that rides the subway each day.”
